You only scan occasional documents, don't need OCR or cloud sync, and are fine with a watermark on exports. The free tier is genuinely usable as a basic scanner — no time limit, no nagging upgrade prompts.
You need Premium features for a single project — signing a stack of contracts, scanning a tax-year pile of receipts, or digitising a binder before a move. After three weeks the Monthly plan is the same money, so plan to cancel before then or switch up.
You want to try all premium features without a long commitment, but you'll keep scanning for more than three weeks. The 7-day free trial lets you test everything before your first charge. Cancel anytime from iOS Settings.
You scan regularly and plan to use ScanLens for a year or more. Yearly is the headline value: 75% off the monthly rate, about $2.50 per month effective. This is the plan most recurring users settle on.
You plan to use ScanLens long-term, or you don't like recurring billing. Lifetime is a one-time payment that unlocks every Premium feature forever, including all future updates. Lifetime beats monthly after six months, and beats yearly after about two years. After three years it's already saving you money against yearly — and it keeps saving every year after.
Weekly math assumes 52 weeks of billing. In practice most weekly subscribers convert to monthly or cancel within the first month — the comparison only matters if you actively keep weekly running.
All ScanLens purchases — free trials, monthly and yearly subscriptions, and lifetime — are processed through the Apple App Store. Your payment method is whatever you have set up with your Apple ID. We never see your card details. We never store payment information ourselves.
Monthly and yearly subscriptions both include a 7-day free trial. The trial starts the moment you subscribe through the App Store paywall inside the app. Apple will charge your first payment on day 8 unless you cancel before then. To cancel during the trial, open iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → ScanLens → Cancel Subscription. You can keep using premium features until the trial ends.
Your subscription is managed entirely through Apple. To change plans, cancel, or view billing history, use iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → ScanLens. From there you can switch between monthly and yearly, cancel the subscription, or re-subscribe.
Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews each request individually. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly.
Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase can be shared with up to 5 family members through Apple Family Sharing, if you have Family Sharing enabled on your Apple ID. The family organizer's purchase is automatically available to other family members on their iPhones and iPads.
Yes. ScanLens has a free tier for document, ID, and passport scanning with crop, rotate, filters, and PDF/JPG/PNG export. Free-tier exports include a watermark. Premium features (OCR in 50+ languages, cloud sync, e-signatures, merge/split PDFs, searchable PDFs, watermark removal, and more) require a subscription or lifetime purchase.
Premium Weekly is $4.99 per week with a 3-day free trial. Premium Monthly is $9.99 per month with a 7-day free trial. Premium Yearly is $29.99 per year (about $2.50 per month effective — a 75% saving versus monthly billing). Lifetime is a one-time $59.99 that unlocks every Premium feature forever, including all future updates.
The 7-day free trial is managed through Apple's App Store subscription system, which means Apple handles the billing. You can start the trial through your Apple ID and cancel anytime before day 7 to avoid being charged. No additional credit card information is given to ScanLens directly.
ScanLens subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, find ScanLens, and tap Cancel Subscription. You will keep access until the end of your current billing period. Lifetime purchases are not subscriptions and do not need to be cancelled.
Refunds for App Store purchases — including ScanLens subscriptions and lifetime — are handled by Apple, not directly by us. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews refund requests on a case-by-case basis.
Yes. The $59.99 Lifetime purchase unlocks every current Premium feature forever, including all future updates to ScanLens on iOS. It is a one-time payment through the App Store — no recurring billing, no subscription. As long as the app exists and you have your Apple ID, your Lifetime purchase remains valid.
All four unlock identical Premium features. The difference is billing cadence. Weekly is $4.99 every week — best for one-off projects, with a 3-day free trial. Monthly is $9.99 every month with a 7-day free trial. Yearly is $29.99 charged once a year (about $2.50/month effective, 75% savings versus monthly). Lifetime is $59.99 paid once with no further billing. Lifetime is cheaper than monthly after about six months and cheaper than yearly after about two years.
No. ScanLens does not show ads in any tier, including the free tier. The app is funded by premium subscriptions and lifetime purchases, not by advertising or data sales.
ScanLens supports Apple Family Sharing for paid purchases. This means one lifetime purchase or premium subscription can be shared with up to 5 family members through your Apple ID family group. There is no separate business or team plan at this time.
All your existing scanned documents remain on your device and are still accessible. You lose access to premium features (OCR, cloud sync, e-signatures, PDF tools, watermark-free export) but your scans are not deleted. If you resubscribe later, premium features reactivate immediately.
Some people genuinely only need Premium for a single project — signing a contract, scanning a year's worth of receipts before a tax deadline, or digitising a binder. Weekly is for them. It costs the same as Monthly after three weeks, so if you'll keep scanning past that point, Monthly or Yearly is better value.
Yes. Apple lets you switch between subscription tiers at any time in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → ScanLens. Apple prorates the change automatically. You can also buy Lifetime while a subscription is active — the subscription stops billing at the end of its current period and Lifetime takes over.
Install ScanLens free, then upgrade any time you need Premium features.
