Which plan should you choose?

Stay on Free if

You only scan occasional documents, don't need OCR or cloud sync, and are fine with a watermark on exports. The free tier is genuinely usable as a basic scanner — no time limit, no nagging upgrade prompts.

Choose Weekly ($4.99/week) if

You need Premium features for a single project — signing contracts, scanning receipts, or digitizing a binder. Weekly has no introductory trial. After three weeks Monthly costs the same, so plan to cancel or switch before then.

Choose Monthly ($9.99/mo) if

You want to try all Premium features without a long commitment. Eligible new subscribers can try Monthly for 7 days before the first charge. Cancel anytime from iOS Settings.

Choose Yearly ($29.99/yr) if

You scan regularly and plan to use ScanLens for a year or more. Eligible new subscribers can try Yearly for 14 days. It costs about $2.50 per month effective, 75% less than monthly billing.

Choose Lifetime ($59.99) if

You plan to use ScanLens long-term, or you do not want recurring billing. Lifetime is a one-time payment for the current Premium entitlement with no recurring renewal. At current US prices, Lifetime costs less than monthly billing after about six months and less than yearly billing after about two years. See the no-subscription scanner guide for the free-tier and purchase boundaries.

Payment & billing

How billing works

All ScanLens purchases — free trials, monthly and yearly subscriptions, and lifetime — are processed through the Apple App Store. Your payment method is whatever you have set up with your Apple ID. We never see your card details. We never store payment information ourselves.

Free trial

Eligible new subscribers may receive a 7-day Monthly trial or a 14-day Yearly trial. Weekly has no introductory trial. Apple shows your eligibility, trial end date, and first billing date before you confirm. Cancel from iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → ScanLens.

Managing your subscription

Your subscription is managed entirely through Apple. To change plans, cancel, or view billing history, use iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → ScanLens. From there you can switch between monthly and yearly, cancel the subscription, or re-subscribe.

Refunds

Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews each request individually. We do not have the ability to issue refunds directly.

Family and team plans

There is no separate family, business, or team plan at this time. If Apple purchase sharing is available for a product in your region, the App Store purchase sheet will show that eligibility before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

Is ScanLens free?

Yes. ScanLens has a free tier for document, ID, and passport scanning with crop, rotate, filters, and PDF/JPG/PNG export. Free-tier exports include a watermark. Premium features (OCR in 14 languages, cloud sync, e-signatures, merge/split PDFs, searchable PDFs, watermark removal, and more) require a subscription or lifetime purchase.

How much does ScanLens Premium cost?

Premium Weekly is $4.99 per week with no introductory trial. Premium Monthly is $9.99 per month with a 7-day trial for eligible new subscribers. Premium Yearly is $29.99 per year with a 14-day trial for eligible new subscribers (about $2.50 per month effective — a 75% saving versus monthly billing). Lifetime is a one-time $59.99 purchase.

Does the free trial require a credit card?

Eligible new subscribers may receive a 7-day Monthly trial or a 14-day Yearly trial through the App Store. Weekly has no introductory trial. Apple shows eligibility and the billing date before confirmation; ScanLens never receives your card details.

How do I cancel a ScanLens subscription?

ScanLens subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID. To cancel, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, find ScanLens, and tap Cancel Subscription. You will keep access until the end of your current billing period. Lifetime purchases are not subscriptions and do not need to be canceled.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases — including ScanLens subscriptions and lifetime — are handled by Apple, not directly by us. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple reviews refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

Is the lifetime purchase really lifetime?

Yes. The $59.99 Lifetime option is a one-time App Store purchase for the current Premium entitlement, with no recurring renewal. Purchase restoration and availability are handled through the Apple account and the current App Store offer.

What is the difference between Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime?

All paid plans unlock the same Premium features. Weekly is $4.99 with no introductory trial; Monthly is $9.99 with a 7-day trial for eligible new subscribers; Yearly is $29.99 with a 14-day trial for eligible new subscribers; Lifetime is a one-time $59.99 purchase.

Does ScanLens have ads?

No. ScanLens does not show ads in any tier, including the free tier. The app is funded by premium subscriptions and lifetime purchases, not by advertising or data sales.

Is there a family plan or team plan?

There is no separate family, business, or team plan at this time. If Apple purchase sharing is available for a product in your region, the App Store purchase sheet will show that eligibility before you buy.

What happens to my scans if I cancel premium?

All your existing scanned documents remain on your device and are still accessible. You lose access to premium features (OCR, cloud sync, e-signatures, PDF tools, watermark-free export) but your scans are not deleted. If you resubscribe later, premium features reactivate immediately.

Why offer a Weekly plan?

Some people genuinely only need Premium for a single project — signing a contract, scanning a year's worth of receipts before a tax deadline, or digitizing a binder. Weekly is for them. Two weeks of Weekly already costs about the same as a month, so if you will keep scanning past that point, Monthly or Yearly is better value.

Can I switch between Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, and Lifetime?

Apple manages ScanLens subscriptions in iOS Settings and shows the options available to your account. If you buy Lifetime while a subscription is active, check the subscription status and cancellation date in your Apple account rather than assuming billing stops automatically.
