The quickest scan-to-email workflow

Scan the complete document first. When the PDF is ready, tap Share and choose your email app. ScanLens does not send mail through its own server: iOS hands the PDF to the provider you select, and that app sends it from your account.

How to scan and email a document from iPhone

  1. Open ScanLens and start a document scan.
  2. Capture every page; use batch mode when the document has more than one page.
  3. Review page order, crop, rotation, and readability, then save as PDF.
  4. Optional: compress a large PDF or password-protect a sensitive one.
  5. Tap Share, choose Mail, Gmail, Outlook, or another email app, add the recipient, and send.

What if the scanned PDF is too large to email?

Attachment limits vary by email provider and recipient. Remove blank pages, use PDF compression, or send a cloud link when the provider refuses the attachment. Keep enough image quality for small print and signatures to remain readable. PDF compression.

Emailing sensitive scans safely

Email transport is handled by your selected provider. For IDs, tax forms, contracts, or medical records, consider password-protecting the PDF and sending the password through a different channel. Check the recipient address before sending. PDF password protection.

FAQ

Can I scan multiple pages and email them as one PDF?

Yes. Capture all pages in one session, put them in the correct order, save one PDF, then share that single file through your email app.

Why is my scanned document too large to email?

High-resolution pages and long documents create large PDFs. Remove unnecessary pages or compress the PDF; if the provider still rejects it, upload it to your cloud account and email a controlled link.

Does ScanLens read or send my email?

No. ScanLens creates the PDF and opens the iOS share sheet. The email app you choose handles the message, account, recipients, and delivery.

Can I password-protect a scan before emailing it?

Yes. Add a PDF password before sharing, then send the password to the recipient through a separate channel.
